Christmas time has brought a deluge of packages to the Lake City Post Office, and the postmaster is asking people to be patient with their carriers.

“Starting with the Thanksgiving Holiday the package volume increases four to five times a normal package day,” Lake City Postmaster Darin Lundell said. “Sometimes customers do not understand why they are getting mail much later in the day but this is one reason why.
