Voters to get say on whether to close one block of South Washington Street

Approval would give council discretion to vacate street to make way for hotel development
Voters in Lake City, along with electing a mayor and three council members, will be asked for permission to close a one-block street.
A yes vote in the Nov. 8 general election will give the City Council permission to close one block of South Washington Street to allow for construction of a hotel.
The City Council settled on language for the ballot question at its July 11 meeting.
