Wabasha County board trims levy increase

The Wabasha County Board of Commissioners, at their Dec. 15 meeting, agreed by a 4-1 consensus to lower the levy increase for 2016 from 5 percent increase to 4 percent. All commissioners were present, along with County Administrator Michael Plante and County Attorney Karrie Kelly.
Adjustments in the budget to make the lower levy increase happen are now in the hands of Finance Director Debbie Koenig.
