Wabasha County service suspensions continue

Wabasha County has extended the time frame of suspending public-facing non-essential services until further notice.

Wabasha County offices providing public-facing services will continue to be closed to in-person public contact. Employees will still attend work, providing services via phone and electronic means when possible; required essential services will be provided in-person.

The first floor of Criminal Justice Center and sheriff’s office window will remain open. Court and Court Administration will remain closed at this time. County Attorney’s office and Court Services are open and available by telephone calls. Other Wabasha County buildings are closed to the public.

Questions regarding making your property tax payment are being handled through telephone calls and scheduled appointments with the Taxpayer Services Office.

The county recycling sites in Millville, Kellogg, Plainview, Conception and Zumbro Falls will be closed until further notice.

“According to our Public Health team and the Minnesota Department of Health, there are currently six confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wabasha County. We are taking this measure to help lessen the rate of infection. A difficult but necessary decision to protect the public and our employees,” County Administrator Brian Buhmann said.

“We would like to recognize the dedication and hard work of our Public Health Department, county staff, the sheriff’s office, local law enforcement and the community leaders as we continue to proceed through this unprecedented event. If you can, remember support our local restaurants with a take-out order.

“We appreciate your patience and support of the public. Take care to practice social distancing, give a call to high-risk people to let them know you care, and continue good handwashing practices.”
