Wabasha woman convicted of assaulting officers

A Wabasha woman has been convicted of assaulting police.

On Sept. 14, a Wabasha County Jury found Karla Rene Bergan, 25, of Wabasha, guilty of two separate counts of assault in the fourth degree.

According to a news release from the Wabasha County Attorney’s Office, the charges arose from a June 5 incident, when after having responded to the scene of a potential domestic assault, two law enforcement officers were intentionally struck by Bergan, resulting in visible injuries and marks.
