Kiwanis club: We’re still at work for Lake City children

Kiwanis members of Lake City met via “Zoom”. During our “stay-at-home” period, members connect and take care of business.

Using the internet in this fashion is a little new to most people.

Our first meeting was held April 29 in lieu of the regular lunch meeting. Twelve members joined the meeting, shared greetings, received committee reports and shared ideas.

District Governor Rachel Disrud also was a participant and provided ideas, encouragement, and updates.

The International Convention scheduled for June has been canceled but the District Convention at St. Cloud is still planned.

Also included in the meeting was Mayor Mark Nichols who shared information about city activities including: Covid 19 update, park plans, progress of road construction and traffic patterns.

With present restrictions about freedom of movement, volunteer clubs like Kiwanis are not able to carry on our traditional activities. However, we try to stay connected and will be able to “get back in the game” when conditions improve.
