It won’t happen this year, but projects like the proposed Highway 61 improvements through Lake City could be considered for funding through a state bonding bill.
City Administrator Mark Sievert said the project, if the city goes ahead with it, could be a candidate for legislative funding.
The legislature opened this year’s two-month session on Tuesday.
The state budget, established biennially, is already set for this year but a state funding surplus means additional appropriations will be considered this spring.
