To the editor:
The gates of heaven swung open widely on Monday morning as Steve Ritzenthaler joined the ranks of musicians playing there.
Stephen J. Ritzenthaler taught instrumental music in our Lake City School District for 32 years, starting in the fall of 1969 at the age of 24 years old.
Under his direction, the marching band rose to fame. You would not want to count all of the awards they won in those 32 years.
