Old Curmudgeon - 9-7-17
It strikes the Old Curmudgeon that the things we remember for decades are the really catastrophic happenings.
He recalls the day when Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941. It was before electricity reached the farm in Dodge County. The across-the-road farmer brought that news a day later on the eighth.
He remembers when Franklin Delano Roosevelt died in 1945. It marked the only time that the O.C. ever saw his father shed a tear.
