Letter: For fixed income seniors, any property tax is too much
To the editor:
I believe property tax which includes the school tax should be reduced or even cease once a person reaches senior status (65 and older) on fixed income.
Upon reaching their final years those folks have done their share throughout their working life. Justification for tax at that time for the sake of money is not good humanity.
I am not talking about a tax deferment as Minnesota has where it must be payed back with interest, but instead be a permanent tax exemption of some kind.
