LaMoyne Logan obituary

With deep sadness, we announce that LaMoyne “Louie” Everett Logan died on September 22, 2026 at the of age 95 at the Community Living Center of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
LaMoyne Everett Logan was born on November 3, 1930 in Rochester, Minnesota to Casper and Florence (née Haase) Logan. They lived in Rochester and later in Red Wing, Minnesota.
In 1949, LaMoyne joined the National Guard, which was later federalized into the U.S. Army. He served for four years, including during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged on November 22, 1952, with the rank of Sergeant First Class Tactical.
After his service in the United States Army, LaMoyne married Arleen Mae Lexvold on December 13, 1952. They made their home in Red Wing, Minnesota where they raised their family and spent their lives together.
LaMoyne founded Logan Plaster and Drywall, where he worked in stucco, plaster, and drywall finishing until retiring. During that time, he and his close friend Donald Oliver owned and operated Four Seasons Insulation.
LaMoyne was an active member of many clubs and organizations:  past Post Commander of American Legion Leo C. Peterson Post 54 and a 77-year member; a member of Bay City American Legion Post 357; a 50-year member of the Red Wing Elks Lodge No. 845; a former member of the Red Wing Trap Club who participated in many state and national trapshooting tournaments; a member of the Red Wing Red Men Club; and a member of the Red Wing Country Club.
In his younger years, LaMoyne played fast-pitch softball and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating on the Mississippi River, bowling, and golfing. He also enjoyed being active with lawn care, visiting friends, and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Gophers, Twins, and Vikings.
He is survived by sons Michael Logan of Red Wing and John Logan of Red Wing; daughter Lori (Brad) Thompson of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; grandsons Joshua (Kristin) Logan, Timothy Logan, Chase Logan, Lex (Elizabeth) Logan, Logan (Andrea) Kittelson, Anders (Laura) Kittelson, Alexander Kittelson, granddaughter Sydney (Christian Ndekwe) Kittelson; several great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and friend Tim Ulvenes; nephews; nieces; and cousins.  
In addition to his parents, LaMoyne was preceded in death by his wife Arleen; sister Dawn Ulvenes; and brother-in-law Marlyn Lexvold.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, 628 West 5th Street, Red Wing, Minnesota. The funeral service will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable donations be made to the Fisher House serving families of Veterans who are receiving in-patient care at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center (https://connect.fisherhouse.org/Minneapolis/donate) or the Prostate Cancer Foundation (https://www.pcf.org/donate/).
LaMoyne’s family and friends knew how deeply he loved them. That quiet love will stay in their hearts and memories always.
