Melvin Liljevall Obituary

Melvin P. Liljevall, 89, of Lake City, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.
    He was born on Nov. 27, 1928 to Peter and Hannah (Hegstrom) Liljevall in St. Paul. Melvin attended Mound High School. Melvin served in the Navy and after being discharged he married June Rothgarn on April 20, 1956 in Wayzata, Minn. They made their home in Lake City. He worked at Federal-Mogul until retiring in 1991. After he retired, Melvin worked at Wild Wings and Treasure Island Casino. He enjoyed woodworking, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Melvin was a member of VFW Post 8729 and American Legion Post 110 of Lake City.
    Melvin is survived by his wife, June Liljevall of Lake City; children, Michael (Kim) Liljevall of Lake City, Barbara (Randy) Ranvek of Lake City, and Jerry (Terri) Teeson of Coon Rapids; six grandchildren, Nick Holmsadt, Brandon Ranvek, Brad Anthony, Sarah Burbach, Indy Liljevall and Jenny Heger; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Liljevall.
