Robert Suskovic Obituary

Robert “Bob” Suskovic, 94, of Lake City, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.         He was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Red Wing to Adolf and Myrtle (Tyler) Suskovic. He graduated in 1942 from Red Wing Central High School. He attended Bradley College for watchmaking in Peoria, Ill. and served in the U.S. Navy. In September of 1945 he opened up his first store, Suskovic Jewelers in Lake City. On Nov. 20, 1946, he married Mary Koller in Northwood, Iowa and they lived in Lake City. They were partners in Suskovic Jewelers of Lake City and Rochester for 46 years. Mary died on Dec. 9, 1999. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed his cats, gardening, recording and watching his classic movie collection.
    Survivors include his three daughters, Jolee Suskovic of Minneapolis, Judee (Bill) Larson-Hogan of Minneapolis and Jeannie (Paul) Joas of Edina; two grandchildren, Christopher Larson and Jennifer Guimond; two step grandchildren, Brittany (Danny) Kantar and Ariel (Sam) Jensch; three great-grandchildren, Huse, Paige and Lillian; one brother, Richard (Pat) Suskovic of Austin; one sister, Iva Lea Wanner of Edina; and nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife, and son-in-law, Randy Larson.
    A private family service will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Lake City. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
