In a democracy, giving back takes many forms
My grandfather, father, and brother all served in the military to defend and preserve our democracy, one that is firmly rooted in our Constitution. Article One guarantees the people’s right to demonstrate, write letters, sign petitions, walk picket lines, and speak freely. We engage in these acts because our thoughts, experiences, and voices matter—they help uphold and strengthen the democratic foundation we cherish. Giving back takes many forms.
