Trivial pursuits: Familiar U cheer’s Lake Pepin origin

The search engine Google has a feature called “Google Alerts” that lets you receive emails when its crawlers find new pages containing a search term you define.

I have alerts set up for different terms related to Lake City. That’s how I learned about the other Lake Pepin.

The alert was for a news story that mentions Lake Pepin (the one in Le Sueur County).

Over on Wikipedia I learned that, according to a book published by the Minnesota Historical Society in 1920, this Le Sueur lake is named after the Lake Pepin that abuts Lake City.
