Anytime powerlifters set 28 new records
Lake City’s five lifters, Linda Meurer, Christy Rice, Matt Smith, Jeremy Watters and Lyncoln Watters set a combined total of 27 Minnesota state records and one national record in the USA Powerlifting Minnesota State meet on Feb. 16 and 17.
In her first powerlifting meet, 70-year-old Linda Meurer set a national record for her age and weight class by deadlifting 215 pounds. Meurer also set 10 of the 27 Minnesota records set by Team Anytime Fitness Lake City (AFLC). She broke several records set by younger women.
