Boys basketball team defeats Goodhue to claim second straight HVL title

Lake City won its second straight overall Hiawatha Valley League championship on Monday night as the Tigers held off a furious rally by Goodhue to win 50-45 in the 23rd edition of the league title game. The Tigers join elite company as only the second team to ever repeat as overall champions in back-to-back years since the current league format went into play in 1993-94. Byron remains the only squad to have won three straight titles (2002-04).
