Boys clinch share of HVL crown with 70-46 win over Zumbrota-Mazeppa

Lake City clinched a share of an unprecedented ninth consecutive Hiawatha Valley League crown Friday night with a 70-46 blowout victory over Zumbrota-Mazeppa.

The Tigers had to overcome yet another slow start to the game as the Cougars led 11-5 after six and a half minutes before Ryan Heise scored nine straight points to give the Tigers the lead for good. A three-pointer from the top of the key by Heise put Lake City in front 12-11 with 9:58 to play until halftime.
