Boys golf wins The Jewel Invite; Rothgarn finishes in 2nd place
The Lake City Tiger boys’ golf team won the Jewel Invitational Monday at The Jewel Golf Club, shooting a tournament record low score of 293. Second place went to Rochester Mayo with a score of 295. Northfield took third place in the nine team field with a score of 302.
The medalist was Matt Turner, from Winona, who also set a record by shooting a seven-under par score of 64 (34-30). Runner-up was Brennan Rothgarn from Lake City with a 69. Hunter Fjerstad (Byron 71), Micah Harber (Mayo 72), and Cecil Belisle (Red Wing 72) rounded out the top five.
