Boys win back-and-forth battle with Goodhue to remain unbeaten

A 12-2 run over the final eight minutes helped top-ranked Lake City rally for a 51-47 victory at Goodhue last Tuesday night in a battle for first place in the Hiawatha Valley League. Jaden Shones provided two key steals and layups in crunch time before hitting a pair of free throws with 24.2 seconds remaining for the final margin.

Jack Meincke and Ryan Heise each hit a three-pointer to open the game as Lake City raced out to a 6-0 lead before the Wildcats answered with eight straight points over the next 2:17 to take their first lead of the game.
