Boys win HVL golf title

The Lake City varsity boys’ golf team went into the Hiawatha Valley League (HVL) Championship on Thursday, May 19, knowing they had to play their best golf of the season.  They met the challenge, shooting a team score of 308 to beat runner-up Rochester Lourdes by 11 shots.  All six of the Tiger boys were named All-Conference, another school first for this team.  
Parker Schurhammer led Lake City with a one-under par score of 71 and was the meet medalist.  Other scores for the Tigers were Brennan Rothgarn 78, Thomas Huettl 78, Levi Herbst 83, Riley Fritz 84, and Nate Klipfel 84.
