Five girls headed to state in track and field
Five Lake City girls track and field team members qualified for the state meet at the Section 1A championships in Dodge Center May 31 and April 2.
The Section 1A champion 4x400 relay team of Morgan Dammann, Abby Ziebell, Madi Green and Liv Kozlowski finished with a time of 4:03.13, less than a second behind the meet record set in 1993 by Plainview.
Lake City junior Grayce Adler finished third in the long jump with a jump of 16-11.5, exceeding the qualifying standard of 16-9 to qualify for state.
