Seventh-seeded Lake City gave Plainview-Elgin-Millville a big scare in the quarterfinals of the Section 1AAA playoffs, but the Bulldogs used 13 fourth quarter points to pull away for a 41-21 victory last Wednesday night in Elgin.
The game got off to a less than auspicious start for the underdog Tigers as the Bulldogs recovered an onside kick to open the game. Four plays later, Chase Rahman found the end zone from 30 yards out and the Bulldogs took a 7-0 lead with 10:38 to play in the opening quarter.
