Girls beat No. 1 ranked Lourdes
The Lake City Tigers girls basketball team hosted top ranked Rochester Lourdes for the big Hiawatha Valley League (HVL) conference game of the week. The Tigers came away with a 69-63 win.
The Tigers started out strong with a nice drive to the basket by Lilly Meincke. Lourdes answered with a couple of 3-point shots from Anna Otto to give them a 6-2 lead over the Tigers.
Meincke was hot from the outside and hit a three and then a basket within the paint to pull Lake City within one. Lourdes then took a bigger lead forcing Coach Clay Olstad to call a timeout.
