Girls golf team wins HVL title
The Lake City Girls Golf team captured the Hiawatha Valley League championship for the ninth consecutive season on May 22 at Northern Hills Golf Course (NHGC) in Rochester.
The Tigers squad fired a 346 to win by nine strokes over Byron 355, followed by PIZM 370, Stewartville 401, Lourdes 426, Kasson-Mantorville 436, and Cannon Falls 462.
Lake City was led by Brooke Bee’s 84, Emma Berge 85, Ella Matzke 88, and Kaitlin Schmidt 89. Other scores included Mattie Mears 94, and Alayna Atkinson 96.
