Girls golf wins first state title

The Lake City High School girls golf team captured the State Class AA Team Championship on June 15-16 at the Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Club in Jordan by a convincing forty-four strokes over nearest competitor, Providence Academy.

It was the first team title by the Tiger squad in their seven state appearances and capped off an undefeated season for this year’s team.

On Day 1, LC was led by Jordana Windhorst Knudsen’s 3 over par 75, Ella Matzke 88, Molly Kennedy 89, and Emma Berge 91. Other scores were Mattie Mears 97 and Brooke Bee 107.
