Girls golf wins HVL title
Class AA’s No. 3 ranked, Lake City Tigers girls golf team captured the Hiawatha Valley League (HVL) Championship held at Cannon Golf Course on May 23. The Tigers fired a 324, followed by Stewartville 381, Kasson-Mantorville 382, Cannon Falls 390, and Byron 427. Rochester Lourdes, Triton, Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa, and Kenyon-Wanamingo had incomplete teams.
Lake City was led by medalist Marah Rothgarn’s 78, Ava Wallerich 79, Hannah LaBonte 82, and Jordana Windhorst-Knudsen 85. Other scores included Taylor Willers 86 and Molly Kennedy 93.
