Girls golfers win section as they look to repeat as state champs
The Lake City High School girls golf team captured the Section 1AA title at Northern Hills Golf Club in Rochester May 31 and June 1. The Tigers fired rounds of 338-331 (669) to win by eighty-nine strokes over Red Wing 396-362 (758) followed by Byron 388-380 (768), and Pine Island-Zumbrota-Mazeppa 386-383 (769).
Those were the top four teams from day 1’s competition who advanced to day 2. Schools not making the cut for day 2’s competition were Caledonia 400, Stewartville 443, LaCrescent 450, Kasson-Mantorville 459, Cannon Falls 466, St. Charles 469, Lourdes 470, and Triton 516.
