Girls hold off Stewartville for big conference win

The Lake City Tigers girls basketball team (9-1 in conference play) hosted the Stewartville Tigers (7-2) on Jan. 28.  A balanced scoring attack for Lake City helped lead them to a 61-53 win.
Lake City got the first basket with a two point shot from Natalie Bremer.  On the next possession, Bremer found Grace Bany under the basket. Bany was fouled and went to the line for two, giving Lake City a quick 4-0 lead.
Baskets from Lilly Meincke and Bany increased Lake City’s lead to eight and forced Stewartville to call a timeout.
