Girls win again in HVL golf
The Class AA No. 1 ranked Lake City girls’ golf team captured the second Hiawatha Valley League (HVL) meet of the season held at Dodge Country Club on May 5.
The Tigers posted a 329, followed by Stewartville 367, Lourdes 391, Byron 406, Kenyon-Wanamingo 408, Kasson-Mantorville 417 and Cannon Falls 484.
Lake City was led by medalist Emily Schimbeno’s one over par 73, Lidia Wallerich 84, Lexi Geolat 85, and a pair of 87’s by Ava Wallerich and Olivia Matzke. Morgan Matanich also competed and fired a 91.
