Heise named top player in women’s hockey

Taylor Heise of Lake City is the winner of the top individual honor in NCAA Division I women’s hockey.

On March 26, USA Hockey announced on NHL Network that the University of Minnesota senior had won the 2022 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.

Selection criteria for the award include “outstanding individual and team skills, sportsmanship, performance in the clutch, personal character, competitiveness and a love of hockey. Consideration is also given to academic achievement and civic involvement,” according to the University of Minnesota.
