Heise skates for U.S. in world championships

A Lake City 15-year-old will help the USA Hockey U18 womens team defend its world title this weekend in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

Red Wing High School sophomore Taylor Heise is the second youngest member of the U.S. team. She is the daughter of Tony and Amy Heise.

From Jan. 1-6, Heise and her teammates were in Buffalo, N.Y., site of last year’s overtime world championship victory over Canada, to prepare for this year’s tournament. Training included exhibition games against a pro women’s team and a local USA Hockey under-16 boys team.
