Lake City finishes second at state bowling tournament

On Sunday Dec. 5, the Lake City Tiger bowlers competed in the Varsity Class A state tournament.

Competition included a 10-game qualifier where the top 16 of 24 teams moved on to pool play.

The Tigers came out No. 5 having averaged 204. In pool play the Tigers started with a game of 290 which is a new team record and averaged 220 over their six games to earn a spot in the brackets as the No. 1 seed.

They defeated Hutchinson and Kasson-Mantorville to move into the championship match.
