From Lake City youth hockey to Lake Placid

When 15-year-old Taylor Heise decided three years ago to enroll at Twin Bluff Middle School in Red Wing to play hockey, it was because she loved the sport enough to take it as far as she could.

The Heises are a basketball family, but Taylor joined the Lake City Youth Hockey program as a second grader and fell in love with the sport.

Since leaving Lake City Public Schools for Red Wing, the rural Lake City resident played varsity all three seasons on hockey teams that advanced deep into the state tournament.
