Long journey leads skiers to snow, but also cold

Lake City Nordic traveled north to Trego, Wis., once again this year on its annual ski trip. The trip was especially exciting for the club members this year because the winter in Lake City has been virtually snowless.
The 34 club members and four chaperones attending the trip did find snow on the Heartwood’s 25 kilometers of ski trails, but they also found the coldest temperatures of the winter season.
“The pleasure to find snow, however, far outweighed the cold temperatures, and the club members skied in earnest all three days of the trip,” Coach Jim Anderson wrote.
