Loss lands legion team in losers bracket

In what was undoubtedly one of their best games of the year, the Lake City American Legion baseball team defeated Dover-Eyota 4-1 last Friday in the first round of the East Sub-District Tournament at Bill Kieffer Field. The Eagles were seeded eighth, and the Tigers ninth, but the game was played at Lake City because of field conditions at D-E.

Lake City played well in all phases of the game, defense, pitching and hitting. Several sparkling plays by the Tiger defense helped keep the Eagles from scoring more than the one run they did get.
