One JV bowling team headed to state, varsity gets a second chance

The Lake City High School bowling team traveled to Rushford for the conference championship for both varsity and junior varsity (JV).

The varsity won their semifinal match against Wabasha Kellogg 3-0 in the best of five format.  They then bowled Winona in the finals, to see who earns the trip to the state tournament, losing a tough match 3-0, losing the last two games 223-202 and 210-199.

“The kids bowled really well having four out of six games over 200 and that’s all you can ask for,” Lake City Coach John O’Flaherty said.
