One Tiger advances to state, several make podium at Section 1AA wrestling tourney
The Lake City Boys Wrestling team finished their season on Saturday, Feb. 22, with the Section 1AA individual tournament at the Mayo Civic Center. The Tigers came away with 5 placewinners in what is considered to be one of the toughest, if not the toughest Section tournament in the State. Of the 26 individuals that qualified for the State tournament, Kasson-Mantorville qualified 5 wrestlers, followed by Zumbrota-Mazeppa with 5, Cannon Falls 4, Waseca 3, Plainview-Elgin-Millville 2, Pine Island 2, Caledonia 2, Lake City 1, LaCrescent 1 and Austin 1.
