Ranked Tiger boys win third straight

Free throws proved to be the difference as the ninth-ranked Lake City High School boys basketball team notched a hard-fought victory at Pine Island on Tuesday night 63-56 to open Hiawatha Valley League conference play.

The Tigers made 18 of 26 shots from the charity stripe, including nine of 12 the final 1:33 to escape with victory in the first road contest of the season. The Panthers made just four of 10 free throws in the game.
