Strong comeback against Breck falls short of win in semifinal section action
Lake City rallied from 28 points down to tie top seed Breck in the section 4AAA semifinals Saturday night early in the second half but the Mustangs scored 26 unanswered points to emerge victorious 54-28 to advance to the section championship game against Cannon Falls.
Justin Wohlers was intercepted on the opening possession of the game and two plays later Breck got on the scoreboard first as Derek Turner III showcased his incredible speed by rushing for a 58-yard touchdown. A successful extra point put the Mustangs on top 7-0 with 9:43 to play in the first quarter.
