From surgery to state champ in nine months

On June 9, Ethan Heitman became just the second member of the Lake City High School boys track and field team to win an individual state title when he cleared six feet, six inches in the high jump.

It’s an accomplishment made all the more remarkable by the fact that it was only a little over eight months ago that the six foot, five inch Lincoln High School junior underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his knee.
