Tennis girls notch two wins in conference play
The Lake City girls Tiger tennis team won two conference tilts last week against Cannon Falls and Stewartville.
The Tigers swept the singles bracket against Cannon Falls on Sept. 27 and gave up a point at No. 1 doubles in the 6-1 win.
Ava Wallerich was in control at No. 1 singles winning 6-0, 6-2. Ashley Thieren made quick work of a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles Emma Brunkow came out strong in the first set for a 6-0 win. In the second set she had to work for the 7-5 finish. Sarah Ziebarth outplayed her opponent at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
