Tennis girls notch win over Stewartville 5-2
The Lake City girls Tiger tennis team hosted their namesake Stewartville Tigers Sept. 19 and came away 5-2 winners.
In singles play, Ava Wallerich was in control at No. 1 for the win 6-1, 6-1; Ashley Thieren played tough at No. 2 winning 6-1, 6-3; Sarah Ziebarth came out on top at No. 3 6-4, 6-2; at No. 4 Kaylee Muenzhuber lost the battle 4-6, 7-5 (8-10) tiebreaker.
In doubles play, Emma Brunkow and Renae Harvey were edged 6-7 (2) tiebreaker, 6-2, (4-10) set tiebreaker at No. 1.
Kasi Cronin and Hailey Meincke cruised to victory at No. 2 6-0, 6-0.
