Tennis team bows twice
The Tiger Tennis girls lost two Hiawatha Valley League matches last week to Stewartville and Cannon Falls.
On Thursday they welcomed the Bombers to town and fell 5-2 to their Cannon Falls foe.
Coming out on top for Lake City were Ava Wallerich at No. 2 singles, going 6-2, 7-5 and Ashley Thieren at No. 4 singles winning 6-2, 6-3.
Grace Dankers was defeated at No. 1 singles 4-6, 0-6. Emily Albright went a full three sets in her loss at No. 3 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 3-6.
In doubles play Katie Johnson and Kasi Cronin lost a close battle at No. 1 doubles 5-7, 4-6.
