Thomas completes invitational comeback with playoff win
Bennett Thomas defeated Matthew Chandler in a playoff to complete a comeback and capture his first Lake City Invitational.
Thomas, currently out of Minneapolis, began the day 4 shots off the pace set by Nick Navarro’s 4-under 67 in round 1. A slow start on his first 9 holes on Sunday turned around with a stretch of 4 birdies in 6 holes on the second 9 for a 71. “Started seeing the putts a little better, felt really good on the short putts today, which was huge because there was a lot of them,” he said of the round.
