Tiger boys defeat La Crescent, earn spot in section title game
Lake City led from start to finish as the Tigers moved one step closer to a state tournament berth with a 61-43 victory over La Crescent in the section 1AA semifinals March 13.
It was a dream start for the Tigers as they opened up a 20-4 lead midway through the first half. Reid Gastner opened the scoring with a corner triple before Nathan Heise hit back-to-back three-pointers to give Lake City a 9-0 lead less than two minutes in.
The Tigers went four minutes without scoring as the Lancers scored two field goals to slice the lead to five before an 11-0 run by Lake City.
