Tiger boys upset by 10-seed Pine Island

A memorable season reached a stunning conclusion Monday night at the Mayo Civic Auditorium as tenth seed Pine Island knocked off second seed Lake City 70-65 in the Section 1AA Quarterfinals. The Panthers opened the game six of six from three-point range and used torrid shooting all night long to spring the upset.

The lead changed hands five times in the opening eight minutes as Lake City managed just five points early on before scoring five straight points to take a 10-9 lead with 10:09 to play in the first half.
