Tiger girls handle Chatfield in opening round of Section 1AA Tournament
The No. 1 seeded Lake City Tigers girls basketball team hosted No. 16 Chatfield Thursday, Feb. 21 in the first round of play for the Section 1AA Tournament on the Tigers home court.
Chatfield defeated Cannon Falls on Feb. 19 to earn a spot in the game.
The game started off with both teams finding the basket and keeping the score close. Lake City cranked up the defensive pressure and took the lead. With 12:20 left in the first half Lake City was up 12-8. The Tigers continued to extend their lead and went into the locker room up 26 points (41-15).
