Tiger girls place eighth at Section 1A championships, six qualify for state meet
The Section 1A Track and Field Championship was held at Triton High School on May 27 and 29, and the Lake City girls’ team delivered a strong showing, qualifying six athletes for the State Meet in four events.
Senior and team captain Peyton Meincke led the Tigers with a victory in the 800 meters, recording a personal-best time of 2:19.76. Fellow senior and captain Sadie Sanders also punched her ticket to State with a personal-best 47.07 in the 300-meter hurdles, finishing fifth overall.
