The 2021 season opener for the Lake City Football team will be remembered for many years to come as the Tigers emphatically halted the nations longest active high school football winning streak at 71 games by defeating Caledonia 30-13. The victory by the Tigers handed the Warriors their first regular season loss in 10 years.
The Warriors have been the gold standard of Minnesota high school football, going 170-7 in the past 14 seasons and entered this season having won five consecutive state class AA championships.
